BOSS HM-2 HEAVY METAL DISTORTION

This long discontinued pedal has it’s long reign of mid-tone terror back in the eighties and over the years has become a common pawnshop site. This isn’t the most dynamic pedal out there but for deep dark power chord crunch and some occasional palm muted riffage this can really destroy em all on a budget. Going off of the suggested settings in HM-2 manual we pulled off a pretty convincing Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden mix of tones. This black beauty isn’t just for heavy metal though, tweaking the HM-2 in other directions gave us that thick compressed assault of bands like Swervedriver or even the valvey haze of atmospheric bands like My Bloody Valentine. Tone snobs may scoff and snicker, but the HM-2 is a lot of fun and can usually be picked up for under $40 bucks.
